Thoroughly mix 1000lbs of this monensin Type B Medicated feed into 1000lbs of non-medicated feed to obtain 1 ton of Type C medicated feed containing 25 g/ton monensin. No additional improvement in feed efficiency has been shown from feeding monensin at levels greater than 30 g/ton (360 mg monensin per head per day).
Feed the resulting Type C feed at a rate of 0.14 to 0.42 milligram per pound of body weight per day, depending upon the severity of challenge, up to maximum of 480 milligrams per head per day. Each pound of the resulting Type C feed will medicate 50 pounds of body weight at 0.25mg per pound of body weight per day.
